The Houston Rockets are one of the favorites to sign Marcus Camby if he becomes a free agent on Sunday, according to Mark Berman of My Fox Houston. Rick Kaplan, Camby's agent, called the Rockets "a leading contender" for the services of the 39-year-old big man.
NBA free agency: Rockets a favorite to land Marcus Camby, according to agent
Marcus Camby’s agent Rick Kaplan says the Rockets are a “leading contender” for Camby if the veteran big man clears waivers on Sunday.

Camby was recently traded from the New York Knicks to the Toronto Raptors as part of the Andrea Bargnani deal. However, the Raptors bought out the $7.5 million remaining on Camby's contract and placed him on waivers Friday. Once the center clears waivers, he will be a free agent.
Camby has some ties to Houston, as he currently lives in the area and also briefly played with the Rockets in 2011-12 before being traded to the Knicks. There wouldn't be much playing time available in Houston with Dwight Howard and Omer Asik in place, but Camby could provide some insurance as a third center if healthy. And if Asik gets dealt, Camby could be thrust into a larger role.
Camby battled plantar fasciitis much of last season and was limited to just 24 games. He averaged 1.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game.
