Earl Clark targeted by Clippers, per report

The Clippers are interested in Earl Clark to help shore up their frontcourt depth.

USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers are searching for some depth in the frontcourt, and they have interest in Earl Clark, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Clark enjoyed something of a breakout year for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, averaging 7.3 points and 5.5 rebounds. The No. 14 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft spent three nondescript seasons with the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic before finally getting a chance with the Lakers.

The Clippers need some help on the frontline with Lamar Odom, Ronny Turiaf and Ryan Hollins all possibly headed elsewhere. The Clippers have talked with Golden State Warriors free agent Carl Landry, although it could take the full mid-level exception to lure him to Los Angeles.

Clark almost certainly won't command the full mid-level, but the Clippers would have to fight off the Cleveland Cavaliers for Clark's services. Clark could also still return to the Lakers, but they're hesitant to offer a multi-year deal.
