Pablo Prigioni will re-sign with the New York Knicks for a few more years, his agent told ESPN New York's Ian Begley. The three-year contract will start around $1.5 million, according to Begley, and could increase to $2 million if the point guard reaches certain incentives.

The 36-year-old point guard took his time in joining the NBA, but will apparently make it his home for the remainder of his career after spending much of his prime playing in Spain for various teams. The Argentinian-Italian averaged 3.5 points and 3.0 assists in 16 minutes per game with the Knicks last season, starting 18 of them during a stretch where the Knicks dealt with numerous injury issues.
The Knicks still need help in the backcourt considering Raymond Felton has struggled to stay healthy and Jason Kidd retired to become head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, but retaining Prigioni on a cheap deal should make the backup point guard position less of a problem going forward in free agency.
New York is running out of cap room, however, as the Knicks have just a small portion of the mini-MLE and veteran minimum contracts remaining to lure more players during the rest of free agency.
