The Golden State Warriors are actively attempting to shed contracts for a run at signing free agent center Dwight Howard. The Utah Jazz have emerged as a trade partner for one of those contracts,, according to Marc Stein of ESPN, as they're apparently interested in bring Andrew Bogut on board.

The Golden State Warriors are aggressively attempting to move expiring contracts for a run at free agent center Dwight Howard.

The Warriors will need to clear $20 million in cap space to sign Howard directly with most experts expecting that they'll need to move Andrew Bogut, Richard Jefferson and Andris Biedrins to make an offer -- unless they pursue a sign-and-trade deal with the Lakers that includes young assets and possibly draft picks.
The Jazz have plenty of cap space to spare and some short-term holes to fill in the frontcourt as big man Al Jefferson recently signed a deal with the Bobcats and Paul Millsap is expected to sign elsewhere this summer. Bogut would give the Jazz another big body to play alongside younger prospects Enes Kanter and Derrick Favors.
Bogut is owed $14 million this year, the final of his contract, so the move would also help Utah reach the salary floor without sacrificing future flexibility.
As for the Warriors, they plan on clearing space even if Howard signs with another team. Andre Iguodala is reportedly the next big name on their list.
