NBA free agency: O.J. Mayo agrees to 3-year deal with Bucks

Mayo is reportedly headed to Milwaukee after shooting nearly 41 percent from behind the arc last season.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks have reached a three-year agreement with O.J. Mayo for $24 million, according to C.F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. It was reported earlier in the week that Mayo and the Bucks were close to agreeing to terms, although they were not finalized until Friday evening.

Mayo, 25, spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks after breaking in with the Grizzlies. He averaged 15.3 points, 4.4 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game, which were all close to his career averages. Mayo is regarded as a high-volume shooter and shot nearly 45 percent from the field last year, including 40.7 percent from behind the three-point arc.

Depending on what other moves the Bucks make this offseason, Mayo appears to be a solid fit in Milwaukee. The team could lose both Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings through free agency and already traded J.J. Redick earlier in the week as part of a three-team deal with the Clippers and Suns.

Milwaukee must wait until July 10 to officially announce the signing.
