Shaun Livingston a great value signing by Brooklyn Nets

Quick thoughts on four smaller free-agent point guard agreements:

SHAUN LIVINGSTON: A great signing by Brooklyn to replace C.J. Watson, who left for Indiana. Livingston quietly played really well for the Cavaliers as Kyrie Irving's backup after being waived by Washington in December. His biggest problem is that he can't space the floor, but since rescuing his career in his first tour of duty in Washington in 2010, he's actually become a pretty useful backup. He won't be able to play with Deron Williams like Watson could, but for the minimum, you could do far worse. GRADE: A-

WILL BYNUM: The Pistons just can't quit Bynum, no matter how hard they try. I was hoping a contender would take a chance on Bynum's ball-dominant, but instant-offense style as a change of pace off their bench, but instead, Bynum will return to Detroit on a two-year, $5.75 million deal. He'll play behind Brandon Knight and Rodney Stuckey and be called upon whenever the Pistons need a spark, just like he always has. GRADE: B.

EARL WATSON: I'd think Watson is basically being signed by Portland to be an assistant coach, because his game fell off a cliff last season. As a mentor to Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, he'll work, but the Blazers better hope he isn't pressed into duty on the court. GRADE: C

DONALD SLOAN: An average third point guard who'll replace Ben Hansbrough in Indiana. Nothing more, nothing less. GRADE: C
