NBA free agency: Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen re-signs with Heat
Andersen served as a valuable bench asset during the Heat’s run to a championship.

Andersen, 35, settled into a bench role with the Heat last season during their run to a second-consecutive NBA title. He averaged just under 15 minutes a night over the course of 42 regular season games, averaging 4.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and one block.
Known as a high-energy guy who isn't afraid to get dirty in the paint, Andersen scored at least 10 points four times in the postseason, including a 16-point, five-rebound and three-block effort against the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Andersen has often struggled with injuries and is a fair bet to miss more time next season. He hasn’t appeared in more than 45 games in a single season since 2009-10 and averaged just under 40 games per season over the past three years.
