New Orleans Pelicans unveil new uniforms

The New Orleans Pelicans’ new jerseys aren’t quite as exciting as they could’ve been, but they’ll get the job done.

The New Orleans Pelicans unveiled their new uniforms on Thursday afternoon with a press conference. Jrue Holiday, Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith took to the stage to show off the new digs for the team formerly known as the Hornets.

The jerseys aren’t as exciting as a team nicknamed the Pelicans could’ve been. In fact, they’re pretty much the exact opposite of exciting considering they’re just white and blue jerseys that say New Orleans above the numbers.

The uniforms aren’t exactly hate-able considering they’re just generic-looking jerseys with NEW ORLEANS in big bold letters, but they’re not exactly lovable, either, considering they’re just jerseys.

If the former Hornets were looking to garner some love-hate comments, they likely would’ve went with a design similar to the one the Milwaukee Bucks used in the mid-90s. Instead of a large deer head on the jersey, though, the Pelicans could’ve just put a pelican on the front of their uniforms. That, friends, would’ve caused love/hate comments.
