Tony Parker injury: Spurs guard says he’ll be fine after MRI

Tony Parker underwent an MRI on Tuesday morning, but the Spurs guard isn’t worried about the injury suffered Monday in a friendly against Spain.

Tony Parker needed an MRI following France's loss to Spain in exhibition play on Monday, perhaps leaving doubt that the San Antonio Spurs guard would be able to compete in next month's Eurobasket competition. That doubt was alleviated on Tuesday morning, though, as Parker's knee is apparently fine.

“After the MRI this morning if I follow proper care, it does not affect the next game preparation,” Parker said, according to the official Twitter of the French National Team. “I am not worried, I’ll be 100 percent for the Euro. I approach the competition with confidence.”

Parker didn’t appear to be injured during the contest considering he scored 29 points and added four rebounds while playing 30 minutes in the friendly. Tuesday morning’s MRI was likely more precautionary than necessary. It has to please the French fans hoping their team can make some noise in the upcoming Eurobasket competition.

It probably didn't bug Spurs fans, either, considering an offseason knee injury isn't exactly what the doctor ordered following last year's NBA Finals appearance.
