News broke late Wednesday night that Caron Butler was being traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Milwaukee Bucks, but the package the Suns would receive in return was still being sorted out. It's since been determined that the Bucks will send Ish Smith and Slava Kravtsov to Phoenix, according to a report from the Arizona Republic's Paul Coro.

Bright Side of the Sun on the Butler trade

Most figured that the Suns were looking to receive draft picks in return from one of their better veteran players, but the move instead shaves nearly $6 million off of their cap figure this season.

Smith averaged less than 10 minutes per game last year in 52 games split between the Bucks and Orlando Magic, but the 25-year-old's ceiling seems to be that of a decent backup point guard. Kravtsov averaged 3.1 points for the Detroit Pistons last season after being brought over from his home country of Ukraine.

It’s unclear what the Suns have planned for either player at the current time. Phoenix will have to make a few tough decisions prior to the start of the season, however, because the new additions give them 17 players with at least partially-guaranteed contracts -- two more than the legal limit.
