NBA free agency: Sasha Vujacic trying to resurrect career

The 29-year-old spent the last two seasons in Turkey, but he reportedly has looked good working out in Los Angeles.

Sasha Vujacic has been working out in Los Angeles in an attempt to resurrect his NBA career, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Vujacic reportedly was "a hit" in the Lakers' gym last week and has played well in various pickup games.

Vujacic last played in the NBA during the 2010-11 season. After the long-time Laker saw his playing time dwindle in Los Angeles, he was traded to the New Jersey Nets in a three-way deal in December 2010.

Vujacic was pretty productive in New Jersey, averaging 11.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 28.5 minutes per game. The 29-year-old shot 40.4 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from three-point land.

Vujacic spent the last two seasons in Turkey with Anadolu Efes. Much like his time in the NBA, he provided some solid three-point shooting but wasn't all that efficient in general. Over two years and 40 games in the Euroleague, Vujacic averaged 11.0 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 39.1 percent overall and 35.8 percent from long range. He and Jordan Farmar, a fellow former Laker, helped their squad to the Top 16 round of the Euroleague last season.

Based on his decent play in Europe and the fact that he’s just 29, Vujacic may still have a bit left in the tank. While his offensive efficiency has always left a lot to be desired, Vujacic is a career 37.1 percent three-point shooter and some team may be willing to take a chance on him for that reason.
