Detroit Pistons big man Greg Monroe doesn't plan on answering any questions related to his impending restricted free agency in the summer of 2014, according to David Mayo of MLive.com.

Monroe is entering the fourth and final year of his rookie contract, but the 23-year-old got out in front of those contract questions when speaking with reporters on Wednesday:
“I have an agent, like everybody else in the NBA. He’s going to communicate with the front office. I’m here to play. And that’s it. I’m not going to talk about it. If you ask about it, I’m going to tell you I’m not going to talk about it.”
Monroe could sign an extension with the Pistons before the season starts and avoid restricted free agency altogether, but his agent, David Falk, usually prefers his clients to go through the bidding process. Falk said in March that he would take the same approach with Monroe, which means any new deal before next summer is highly unlikely.
Monroe averaged 15.9 points and 9.6 rebounds last season, and a productive young big man like that is sure to get a very lucrative offer as a restricted free agent. However, the Pistons can match any offer for Monroe, and they're sure to do whatever they can to keep him around in order to keep the frontcourt of Monroe, Josh Smith and Andre Drummond intact.
