Larry Sanders ejected for elbowing Steven Adams

The Bucks’ center is having a down year and was ejected for the first time this season.

Larry Sanders was ejected in the second quarter of the Milwaukee Bucks loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, adding another blunder to his down year. Sanders swung his elbow high toward Steven Adams' head after the Thunder's rookie big man bodied him up in the restricted area, earning Sanders a flagrant-two foul and early night off. Here's the play:

It doesn’t look like Sanders swung very hard as the two big men get tangled, but putting your elbow anywhere near another player’s head is a dangerous play .

Sanders is having a tumultuous season after putting up career-high statistics and signing a four-year extension with the Bucks. His rebounding, scoring, blocks, minutes and field goal percentage have all dropped while he’s averaging a career-high 3.7 personal fouls per game.

Sanders was also involved in an altercation in a Milwaukee night club that resulted in him tearing a ligament in his thumb. He missed an extended period of time nursing the injury earlier in the season. Bucks point guard Gary Neal recently called Sanders out, telling him to earn his money in an argument after a loss to the Phoenix Suns.
