The NBA has reviewed the final possession of the Dallas Mavericks 110-107 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans and officially announced that the referees missed a foul call. Austin Rivers should have been sent to the free-throw line for three attempts after Monta Ellis fouled him as time expired. Here's the missed call from the game:
NBA acknowledges missed foul in Mavericks win over Pelicans
Another Mavericks win, another missed late-game foul. This time Monta Ellis got away with a blatant foul on Austin Rivers.

It’s clear Ellis had his left arm across both of Rivers’ arms, making it impossible for him to even attempt the shot. Rivers is shooting 32 percent from beyond the and has struggled from the free-throw line, shooting just 62 percent, so there’s no guarantee Rivers would have tied game. There’s zero percent chance he makes a shot while getting arm barred by another player and isn’t given a chance at the free-throw line, though.
This is the second time in as many weeks that the NBA has reviewed a final-possession play involving the Mavericks and acknowledged that Dallas got away with a foul. Shawn Marion also got away with a foul against Kevin Love from beyond the arc that would have put Love at the free-throw line with a chance to tie the game.
