Santa Cruz Warriors center Dewayne Dedmon will sign a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, according to Yahoo! Sports' Marc Spears. The 24-year-old, who has been in the D-League since the Golden State Warriors waived him in December, worked out in Philly on Monday and stayed there overnight.
Dewayne Dedmon to sign 10-day contract with Sixers
The Sixers will reportedly take a look at an intriguing big man prospect.

Dedmon has only played garbage time minutes in the NBA, but in 15 games in the D-League he's averaged 15.2 points, a league-leading 13.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, shooting 54 percent from the field. The 7'0, 255-pound rookie went undrafted last June out of USC, but played on the Miami Heat's summer league team in Orlando and the Dallas Mavericks' summer squad in Las Vegas. He went to camp in Golden State, then was shuffled back and forth from Santa Cruz throughout November.
For the Sixers, who have lost four games in a row and have a front office that doesn’t care about winning this season, Dedmon represents a no-risk opportunity. He’s raw, but long and full of potential, and Philadelphia will see what he can give them.
