Sources have expressed to Liberty Ballers that Philadelphia is stepping back from any trade negotiations for Thaddeus Young, and attempting to push a package of Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes. The source also went on to say that a few teams have shown interest, although rather minute, and no deal is close to imminent.
Bennett's struggles
Young reportedly expressed his desire to be traded earlier in the season, via Liberty Ballers’ Jake Fischer, but he has been on a tear ever since the report came out. Young has averaged 21.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.8 steals in the last 12 games, shooting 51 percent from the field and 43.2 percent on three pointers.
Hawes and Turner are both putting up career numbers in Philadelphia head coach Brett Brown’s up-tempo offense, and they both have expiring contracts. Turner will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.
The trade deadline is Feb. 20 and Pavorsky expects Turner and Hawes to be the next players to go as Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie rebuilds the roster, suggesting that the Oklahoma City Thunder, who were interested in Turner earlier in the season, could be a possible landing spot.
