Jeff Teague injury: Hawks guard out at least 2 games

The Atlanta Hawks will be without Jeff Teague for the near future after the point guard suffered a sprained left ankle against the Spurs Friday night.

Teague, who is averaging career highs in points, 16.2, and assists, 7.3, rolled his ankle in the second quarter and didn't return. The Hawks, currently 22-20 in the standings and seeded fourth in the Eastern Conference were the playoff to begin today, travel to Milwaukee and Oklahoma City this week and, according to ESPN, head coach Mike Budenholzer said Teague won't travel with the team to those games.

Although Teague's injury appears minor -- Budenholzer said he hopes Teague can return after the brief road trip -- it's just the latest in a long line of injuries for the Hawks this year. Al Horford is out for the year and Pero Antic, who has been receiving much of Horford's injury minutes, is out for the next few weeks.

Without Teague, the Hawks will rely heavily on Shelvin Mack and rookie Dennis Schroder to play point guard. Paul Millsap alone should be enough to get the Hawks by the Bucks, but that Thunder game could get ugly without Teague. Without their point guard against the Spurs, the Hawks lost by 26 points.
