NBA postpones Pistons-Hawks due to severe weather
Several inches of snow and icy conditions in Atlanta forced the league to postpone the game Wednesday between the Pistons and Hawks.

The polar vortex that has hit much of the United States over the past few days reached all the way down to Atlanta, dumping several inches of snow on the city and creating dangerous conditions due to ice. People all over the area have been forced to take refuge away from home because the weather has made the roads nearly impossible to navigate. Since this type of weather is so rare in Atlanta, the city was ill-prepared to deal with it.
The Pistons had been planning to fly to Atlanta following their victory over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night, but they remained in Detroit due to the inclement weather. The Hawks' next scheduled game is Friday in Philadelphia.
