Postponed Pistons vs. Hawks game will be played on April 8

The Pistons will make it back to Atlanta in April. Start counting down the days, everyone.

A makeup date has been set for the Atlanta Hawks' home game that was not to be on Wednesday night. The Hawks will face the Detroit Pistons at Philips Arena on April 8 at 7:30 p.m. ET, the team announced on Thursday.

The NBA had to scrap Wednesday’s contest because of extreme weather conditions. The icy roads were so severe that is was unreasonable to expect fans to be able to make their way to the game safely. The Pistons were supposed to fly in from Detroit on Tuesday, but the weather meant that they had to stay home.

Coincidentally, April 8 appears to be a popular day for scheduling postponed games. Remember that Minnesota Timberwolves vs. San Antonio Spurs game that was supposed to take place in Mexico City, the one that was canceled because of fire and smoke in the arena? That'll be made up on the same date, at Minnesota's Target Center.
