Denver Nuggets guard Nate Robinson underwent surgery Friday afternoon to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the team announced.

The Nuggets guard is done for the season following a knee surgery he underwent Friday afternoon.


“It’s always tough to see one of your players go down with an injury,” Nuggets General Manager and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly said. “Nate is known for his heart and determination, so I have no doubt he will work hard to get back on the court as soon as possible. He has the full support of our team and organization.”
Robinson was signed by Denver this offseason to serve as a spark plug scoring option off the bench. He averaged 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in just under 20 minutes a night and is shooting 38 percent from three-point range.
The surgery was performed by the team’s orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Steve Traina, at Midtown Surgical Center.

They are two and a half games back of the No. 8 spot.
