Andrew Bynum plans to sign with Pacers, per report

Bynum played 24 games in Cleveland this season before being shipped to Chicago and waived to save cap space. In those 24 appearances, the 26-year-old averaged 8.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.

For his career, Bynum averages 11.5 points and 7.7 rebounds on 55.7 percent shooting from the field. His 19.6 career-average PER is well above league average and at his peak, Bynum looked like one of the very best centers in the league.

The former All-Star’s career has been on a downward spiral this season, but Indiana provides a nurturing environment that might be able to address Bynum’s needs. The Pacers are the league’s best team and, by all accounts, a tight-knit organization with a close group of players.

There are no updates yet as to what Bynum’s contract might look like, but there are reports that he is looking for more than the veteran’s minimum.
