Celtics will acquire Grizzlies’ Jerryd Bayless and Thunder’s Ryan Gomes in Courtney Lee trade

Add Ryan Gomes and a future second-round pick to the list of moving parts in the Courtney Lee-Jerryd Bayless deal.

The Boston Celtics will acquire and then waive forward Ryan Gomes from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Courtney Lee-Jerryd Bayless trade, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. The Thunder joined the deal to facilitate the swap between the Celtics and the Memphis Grizzlies, and they will receive a future second-round pick from Boston for their troubles.

The deal could be finalized and officially announced as early as Tuesday morning, via the Boston Globe’s Baxter Homes. Celtics general manager Danny Ainge has already commented on it, if only briefly, saying that Lee was not happy with his role in Boston, via Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald:

Gomes, originally drafted by the Celtics in the second round in 2005, appeared in only five games for Oklahoma City. He was a fan favorite in Boston at the beginning of his career before being traded to Minnesota in the Kevin Garnett deal. Unfortunately, the 31-year-old does not appear to be in the Celtics' plans this time.
