The injuries keep mounting for the Grizzlies. Losing their starting shooting guard won’t help matters as they continue to struggle.

Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen will miss two to three weeks with a ligament injury in his hand, according to Kevin Lipe of the Memphis Flyer.

The veteran last suited up against the Denver Nuggets on Friday, Jan. 3, when he recorded 10 points, four rebounds and two assists in 36 minutes of action in a 111-108 loss. Since then, he has had a series of absences due to coaches decisions. Allen missed a 110-108 loss Tuesday night to the San Antonio Spurs.

The nine-year veteran has started all 27 games he has played in this season, and is averaging 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and two assists per contest. Even with those numbers, Memphis can ill-afford more bad news on the injury front.

Memphis has struggled to find any consistency this season with injuries to key players like Marc Gasol and Quincy Pondexter. The latest news of Allen's setback is going to make matters more difficult for the team as they work to climb out of fifth place in the Southwest Division and make a run for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
