The Milwaukee Bucks and Brandon Knight were unable to agree on a contract extension prior to the Oct. 31 deadline, which will send the former No. 8 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft to restricted free agency next summer, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Brandon Knight, Bucks can’t agree on contract extension, according to report
The Bucks could not find a good price for their starting point guard and will let him enter restricted free agency next year.

Knight was the centerpiece in a trade that sent Brandon Jennings to the Detroit Pistons. He has improved throughout his three-year career, averaging at least 31 minutes per game since his rookie year. He averaged 17.9 points and 4.9 assists per game while shooting 42 percent from the field last season, all career-best marks.
Milwaukee will have to offer Knight a qualifying offer of $4.8 million to make him a restricted free agent, and will have control of his free agency. Knight will be free to sign any offer sheet, however, and could land a big pay day on the open market. He’s still a developing player and has proven able to play big minutes early in his career.
The Bucks have salary cap space to match a large offer sheet, but it's unknown how much they'll be willing to commit as they rebuild around second overall pick Jabari Parker.
