NBA schedule and results: Cavs knock off Chicago in overtime

Kobe Bryant shouldn’t be this effective, not after tearing his Achilles and sustaining a serious knee injury in the last two seasons. Bryant scored 31 in his second game of the season on Wednesday and is stockpiling points again vs. the Clippers on Friday.

At one point during the fourth quarter, ESPN’s cameras caught Kyrie Irving wondering if this second game of the 2014-15 regular season mirrored a playoff game.

The Cavaliers’ guard, who hasn’t been to the postseason in his career, can be forgiven for his innocence. Friday’s contest against the Chicago Bulls did feel like a playoff game Cleveland eventually won, 114-108, in overtime over a shorthanded Bulls club that played from the fourth quarter on without Derrick Rose.

The Lakers might be horrific this year, but Kobe will not stop being Kobe.

Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose went to the locker room during the fourth quarter against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night after rolling his ankle in the second quarter. Rose played in the third quarter but was not re-inserted back in the game in the fourth quarter.

Rose did not return while the Bulls were defeated by the Cavaliers in overtime, 114-108. X-Rays on Rose’s ankle were negative and Rose said the injury was minor:

Kyrie Irving is a star in the NBA, but has never played in the playoffs before. Now that he’s on LeBron’s team, he wants to know what that’s like:
