Derrick Rose injury is a mild hamstring strain

The Bulls’ star is day-to-day according to his coach, though it appears unlikely that he’ll suit up in the team’s next game.

Derrick Rose's latest injury is a mild strained hamstring and he is listed as day-to-day, head coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters Friday. Curiously, Rose didn't have an MRI one night after it appeared like he received little medical attention on the bench.

The injury took place in the final two minutes of the Bulls' victory over the Toronto Raptors. Rose was driving to the basket and tripped over his own feet. It looked like he hurt his ankle or leg, but the diagnosis was a left hamstring injury. Rose merely said he had cramps.

It's unclear when Rose will return to the court, but he likely won't play when the Bulls take on the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Rose has missed four of the Bulls' nine games this season and left early due to injury in two others, including Thursday night.

Rose's situation and ensuing comments that he is concerned about his long-term future after basketball have drawn lots of criticism. Teammate Joakim Noah fired back, telling critics to "chill the f*** out" after the Bulls' victory Thursday.
