Metta World Peace wants to return to the NBA

The Panda’s Friend says he could make a return to the NBA this season, but hilariously rules out two teams as landing spots.

Sichuan Blue Whales forward Metta World Peace sounds very at peace. In an interview with the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday morning, the 34-year-old covered a number of topics, from his time in China to the state of the NBA's best players.

Personally, World Peace is finding a groove after spending last year playing sparingly for the New York Knicks. Business for the man whose Chinese nickname is The Panda's Friend seems to be going well, especially in shoe sales.

So are his days in the NBA over? Maybe not. World Peace says he’s spoken to a few teams about joining them this year after his season in China ends.

“Potentially, the couple people I spoke to -- I don’t want to mention who -- I could be back this year,” he said.

Patrick, perhaps trying to get a hint about World Peace's potential destination, then asked him if he'd rather play for the Lakers or Knicks.

“I’d rather play in Angola. Send me to Africa,” World Peace said.
