Watch Lance Stephenson’s buzzer beater to beat the Hawks
He didn’t call glass, but it’s OK.

Lance Stephenson was lucky to even get this attempt after a weird illegal screen call cost the Hawks a chance to win the game. But once he actually got it, he did what he set out to do: throw the ball wildly at the backboard and hope it was on line. It was, and thus the Hornets picked up an important double-overtime victory over the Hawks.
This was the play that preceded Stephenson’s game-winner.
That’s Kyle Korver being called for an illegal screen trying to free Paul Millsap on the baseline. Did Korver move? Probably. Did Williams sell the hell out of that moving pick? Absolutely. If you’re a fan of referees swallowing their whistles in the final seconds, this should anger you.
But alas, the call was made and the Stephenson shot was set up. Hornets fans surely won’t complain, not after a bogus five-second call cost them earlier this season. It’s as if they benefited from a macro version of Ball Don’t Lie.
(By the way: notice how quickly Lance ran to get the ball back from Marvin Williams. He was taking that shot come hell or high water.)
