Kobe Bryant is in the midst of a woeful December and recent struggles have Byron Scott and the Los Angeles Lakers considering resting the 36-year-old Bryant, at least for a couple games. Scott said he will talk to Bryant about sitting out "a game or two for fatigue," according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

The Lakers aren’t benching Kobe Bryant, but he could sit out a few games for rest.

Bryant made just 8 of 30 shots on Sunday against the Sacramento Kings on the heels of a 3-for-15 outing on Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He's shooting just 37.7 percent this season, but that total has dropped to 34.6 percent in December. He's especially struggled from deep, making just 14 of 53 three-point attempts this month.
It's been an eventful month for Bryant and the Lakers. He criticized his teammates for a poor practice, calling them "soft like Charmin." That came a few days before he passed Michael Jordan for third place on the all-time scoring list. That was one of the few bright moments of the month. Bryant missed a game-winning shot against Oklahoma City, which led to Jeremy Lin saying he would also like to shoot some game-winners.
Scott saying he would talk to Bryant about sitting out a couple games and Bryant actually sitting out a couple games are two very different things. Bryant is notoriously competitive and may not take to the idea of willingly sitting out. The Lakers host the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday before going on the road for a pair of games against the Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks.
