Dwight Howard won't return to action this week for the Houston Rockets, and it's unclear when he will come back from a strained right knee. Rockets coach Kevin McHale told the Houston Chronicle, "He won't be back anytime soon."
Rockets coach says Dwight Howard ‘won’t be back anytime soon’ from injury
Kevin McHale doesn’t have a timetable for Dwight Howard’s return.

McHale previously said that he hoped Howard would be available for the Rockets against the Warriors on Wednesday night, but has gone back on those statements.
Howard has been out since Nov. 19, missing nine games. The Rockets are 7-2 without Howard in the lineup and 16-4 overall, good enough for the second best record in the West. With Howard gone, Houston has relied on Donatas Motiejunas, who is averaging 9.2 points and 6.3 rebounds in 27 minutes per game, to take up much of the slack.
Before the injury, Howard was playing like his usual self. He is averaging 18.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, on par with his career numbers.
The Rockets have succeeded without Howard, but the return of the big man can’t come soon enough.
