A day-to-day foot injury to Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade could keep him from the 2014 All-Star game, reports Yahoo! Sports' Marc J. Spears. Wade missed a Wednesday night game against the Golden State Warriors with foot drop, a nerve issue that took the feeling out of the guard's foot and made him unable to move the front part of it.

A day-to-day injury could open the door for the likes of Kyle Lowry or Lance Stephenson to play in the All-Star game.

While Wade told Yahoo! that he would still take the plane from the Bay Area straight to New Orleans, it is possible he will need to be replaced if the injury lingers.
Injury problems have made Wade a scratch from 13 games this season. He missed the final two outings heading into the All-Star break because of a migraine headache -- he’s had a long history battling migraines -- and then the foot issue.
Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry and Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson could be the first two options for the NBA to replace Wade if they want to go the guard route. Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo is another option after his fantastic statistical year thus far, as is center Al Jefferson, who has scored 30 points or more in six of the Charlotte Bobcats' last 13 games.

Wade, a 10-time All-Star averaging 18.7 points and 4.7 assists per game, would also need to be replaced in the starting lineup. That decision will be left to Eastern Conference All-Star coach Frank Vogel. Along with Wade, the starting lineup voted in by fans also includes Kyrie Irving, Paul George, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.
If needed, Vogel could replace Wade with center Roy Hibbert or Joakim Noah to give the East more traditional size, or he could remain small with DeMar DeRozan or even run with another point guard in John Wall.
