NBA Skills Challenge 2014: Trey Burke, Damian Lillard edge East with narrow win

Damian Lillard is now 1-for-1 in his bid to make All-Star Saturday history as the West pulled even in the overall competition.

The ball left Trey Burke's fingertips milliseconds earlier than the competition to give him and teammate Damian Lillard a narrow win in the Skills Challenge on All-Star Saturday Night. The duo defeated the East squad represented by Michael Carter-Williams and Victor Oladipo.

Both Carter-Williams and Oladipo missed their initial passes at that station, which cost them valuable seconds and eventually the title.

Reggie Jackson and Goran Dragic posted a time of 42.3 in a display of effort that came into question as Jackson appeared to coast through the stations before Dragic picked things up in Round 1. It ended up costing them a trip to the championship round as Lillard and Burke managed to edge them out.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and DeMar DeRozan showcased their athleticism with strong finishes at the rim, but weren't good enough overall to advance past the rookies to represent the East with a time of 45.0.

For Lillard, it is a successful start in his bid to become the first player to win three events during the showcase.
