The Memphis Grizzlies' ongoing hunt to add more shooting may lead the team to trade for swingman Chase Budinger of the Minnesota Timberwolves, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. The Grizzlies and Wolves have reportedly had discussions about a deal that centers around Budinger and Minnesota guard J.J. Barea, though there are several variables that could go a long way towards deciding if the deal gets done.

While Wojnarowski reports trade talks are still in the early stages, the report names Memphis' Tayshaun Prince and Tony Allen as two players who could be sent back to Minnesota. The Grizzlies are reportedly doing all they can to clear Prince's contract off the books; the 33-year-old forward is set to be paid $7.7 million next season.
Allen signed a four-year, $20 million deal last summer. Allen’s presence in Memphis has been vital to the Grizzlies’ resurgence the last few years, but he’s battled injuries throughout the season and played in only 27 games. He hasn’t played since a Jan. 3 loss to Denver because of a hand injury.
Budinger has had injury issues of his own, missing most of this season while recovering from a torn meniscus. The 25-year-old is averaging only 6.1 points in just over 17 minutes per game, but he's been a good shooter for most of his career. Budinger made over 40 percent of his 3.8 attempts per game from three-point range as member of the Rockets in 2011-12. He's hitting threes at a 36.5 percent clip thus far this season.
