The Sacramento Kings traded for Rudy Gay earlier this season, and it seems like the team isn't done thinking big. Sacramento offered Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore and two picks for Celtics guard Rajon Rondo, but Rondo wasn't interested in re-signing with Sacramento, reports Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
NBA trade rumors: Kings offered Isaiah Thomas, Ben McLemore for Rajon Rondo
Sacramento also threw two picks on the table, but the Celtics point guard said he wouldn’t re-sign with the team if the deal was made.

It’s been slow around the NBA trade table in the weeks leading up to the deadline, but now the flurries are starting up, and Rondo is one of the biggest pieces on the market for a rebuilding Boston team. The Celtics are 19-35 and don’t appear to have a playoff push in them considering their roster situation. Boston is reportedly asking for two unprotected first-round picks for Rondo.
Spears doesn’t elaborate on whether the two picks offered were first-rounders or second rounders.
On the flip side, Sacramento appears to be in "buy" mode despite being 18-35 and tied for the worst record in the Western Conference. The Kings have already gone in on Gay and committed big money to DeMarcus Cousins. While a playoff run seems highly unlikely, it appears they're trying to improve their roster now rather than waiting until the draft like many of the other cellar-dwellers.
That’s a hell of an offer and a reflection of what teams feel Rondo could be worth. Or maybe it’s just the Kings. Regardless, things are suddenly starting to heat up.
