NBA trade rumors: Heat have rejected numerous offers for Norris Cole, per report

Cole’s strong play has attracted a lot of interest from other teams, but the Heat have little interest in moving the young point guard.

Miami Heat reserve point guard Norris Cole is drawing a lot of interest on the trade market, but the Heat have been quick to reject all offers, according to RealGM's Shams Charania.

The Heat view Cole, the 28th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, as one of their best young assets. Cole is currently making $1.13 million in the third year of his rookie deal, and he's set to make $2.04 million in the final year of that contract next season.

Cole is enjoying the best season of his career after making major contributions to the Heat’s second consecutive championship last year. In 21 playoff games last season, the 6’2 guard averaged 6.1 points and two assists while shooting 48 percent overall and 53.1 percent from long range in 19.9 minutes per game.

This year, Cole is averaging 7.6 points and 3.2 assists while knocking down 44.7 percent of his shots and 38.3 percent from deep. Because of the strides Cole has made over the last few years, many teams reportedly believe the 25-year-old is a starting-caliber point guard.
