Isaiah Thomas injury: Kings guard has strained ligaments in left wrist, per report

Thomas is going to try and play through the injury, but he may miss some time in the near future if things don’t improve.

Jim O’Connor-USA TODAY Sports

Sacramento Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas has strained ligaments in his left wrist, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Despite the injury, which was revealed in an MRI, Thomas will try and play through the pain. However, Thomas could require “procedural remedies” in the near future if things don’t improve.

While the Kings have struggled record-wise this season, Thomas has enjoyed the best year of his career as the starting point guard since Greivis Vasquez was dealt to the Toronto Raptors in December. But Sacramento has shown a willingness to part with the 25-year-old before he becomes a restricted free agent in the summer if the right offer is made. This injury could affect any trade negotiations, although the wrist issue isn't expected to dog Thomas over the course of his career.

On the season, Thomas is averaging 20.2 points and 6.3 assists while shooting 44.4 percent overall and 36.7 percent from three-point range in 34.2 minutes per game.
