Portland Trail Blazers All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge will miss at least one week with a strained left groin, the team announced Tuesday night.
LaMarcus Aldridge injury: Blazers big man out 1 week with strained left groin
Aldridge will be reevaluated after sitting out a week.

Aldridge will be reevaluated after sitting out the week, which includes games against the San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves. The Blazers play the Denver Nuggets next Tuesday, so perhaps Aldridge will be able to go then.
Aldridge is in the midst of a career season, averaging 23.9 points and 11.4 rebounds for the 36-17 Blazers. Portland’s immense success has been one of the NBA’s biggest surprises this year, and good health has played a major factor in that. ESPN’s Tom Haberstroh noted that when Aldridge sits on Wednesday against the Spurs, it will be the first game a Blazers starter has missed all year.
But while Portland has been rather lucky to this point in terms of injuries, things are starting to take a turn for the worse. In addition to Aldridge's injury, reserve center Meyers Leonard will miss two-to-three weeks with a sprained left ankle. Joel Freeland, another backup big man, recently sprained his MCL, so the Blazers' froncourt is pretty beat up at the moment.
Either Thomas Robinson or Victor Claver will likely start in Aldridge's place.
