NBA trade deadline: Clippers trade Antawn Jamison to Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks have acquired 16-year veteran Antawn Jamison from the Los Angeles Clippers at the deadline.

Jamison signed a one-year veteran's minimum contract worth about $1.4 million with the Clippers in late August, but was not able to contribute much in Los Angeles. In 22 appearances, the 37-year-old averaged just 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 11.3 minutes per game. Jamison has played only 10 minutes in the last month, in a 45-point blowout victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Since Jamison wasn’t playing, the Clippers’ motivation was to trim their luxury tax bill and open up a roster spot. The Hawks had the cap space to absorb Jamison’s contract, and will likely receive some sort of future pick or cash compensation for doing so. Atlanta has 15 players under contract, so it will have to release someone.
