Houston Rockets star James Harden hyperextended his right elbow in the Rockets' 102-99 overtime loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. Harden had an MRI after the game and will have an X-ray on the elbow when he arrives in Phoenix on Friday, according to Yahoo! Sports' Marc Spears.

Harden suffered the injury after bumping into teammate Jeremy Lin during the overtime period. Harden had been dynamite for much of the game, scoring 35 of his 39 points in regulation. But he was clearly limited in overtime, missing two of his three shots and displaying an inability to dribble effectively with his right hand.
Harden has missed eight games this season with a variety of maladies, and he’s hoping he won’t have to miss too much time following this latest injury:
“When it first happened, I thought it was over,” Harden, who wore an elbow sleeve after the game, said. “It’s painful. It’s still throbbing. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious.”
Harden leads the 37-18 Rockets in scoring, averaging 24.3 points on the season. The loss to Golden State snapped an eight-game winning streak for Houston.
