The Sacramento Kings will buy out the rest of Jimmer Fredette's rookie contract, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. USA Today's Sam Amick confirmed the report.

Miami moves up on the strength of a winning streak which included an impressive revenge win against the Thunder. Fredette’s name has been bandied about in trade rumors since the team elected not to exercise the 2014-2015 option on his deal. The Kings tried to move him before last Thursday’s trade deadline, but were not successful in finding a deal that worked for both sides. Now, unless someone claims Fredette off of waivers, he will be a free agent and be able to choose his next NBA destination.
Less than two weeks ago, Fredette scored 24 points against the New York Knicks, but more recently Fredette found himself completely out of the rotation in Sacramento. In his three seasons with the Kings, his playing time fluctuated wildly. He averaged 5.9 points and 1.5 assists in 11.9 minutes per game for Sacramento this year, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 49.3 percent from the three-point line. That 49.3 percent mark would lead the league, but his 73 attempts don't qualify him for the leaderboard.
Fredette has not lived up to the immense hype that surrounded him when he was selected No. 10 in 2010, but he should be able to help a contender with his shooting.
