Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee is seeking further opinion on a stress fracture in his left leg and may not be able to return from the injury this season, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. McGee played in just five games in 2013-14 before being sidelined by the stress fracture in November, but the injury hasn't healed correctly.

The Denver Nuggets could be without big man JaVale McGee for the long haul because a stress fracture has not healed correctly.

McGee averaged 9.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game last season, and the Nuggets’ previous front office viewed the 7’ big man as a project worth investing in. It handed McGee a hefty contract that will pay him $11.2 million next season and $12 in 2015-16.
Nuggets coach Brian Shaw will continue on this year with a heavy dose of J.J. Hickson and Timofey Mozgov rotating at the center spot, but the expected bad news adds to the losses.

Denver, which is 24-23 so far, is without backup point guard Nate Robinson, who recently tore his ACL. Small forward Danilo Gallinari has been absent the entire year because of his own ACL tear. Additionally, the Nuggets are without point guard Andre Miller, who has not been a part of the team since clashing with Shaw over playing time.
