NBA trade rumors roundup: Bucks unlikely to move Larry Sanders, Deron Williams not expecting any Nets moves

The Bucks don’t want to move Sanders when his stock his so low, while Williams feels comfortable with the core in place in Brooklyn.

Teams have been asking about Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders, but the Bucks don't currently have much interest in moving the big man, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Sanders signed a four-year, $44 million extension this past offseason, but he has had issues both on and off the court this year. Sanders missed nearly two months of the season after injuring his hand in a bar fight, and since returning, he has been rather pedestrian on the NBA’s worst team.

The Dallas Mavericks have been mentioned as possible suitor for Sanders, which makes sense given the success of the Dirk Nowitzki-Tyson Chandler frontcourt. However, the Bucks would rather not move Sanders when his value is so low, perhaps preferring to wait until the offseason to possible get a higher return.

Also complicating matters with Sanders is the “Poison Pill Provision” in the CBA. Since Sanders has signed a rookie scale extension that hasn’t kicked in yet, his outgoing salary for Milwaukee would count as just $3.053 million, while is incoming salary to any trade partner would be $7.027 million. That second number marks the average between his current salary and the average annual value of his extension.

D-Will not anticipating any Nets trades

The Brooklyn Nets were one of the big players on the trade market in the offseason, consummating the blockbuster deal that landed Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. But star point guard Deron Williams expects the trade deadline to be quite for the Nets, according to Tom Lorenzo of NetsDaily:

“I don’t see us making any moves,” he said when asked about whether or not he’d like to see this team keep its core together for the rest of the season. Williams then went on to add, “last time I said that, I think, I got traded,” laughing and adding, “that’s the quote for the day.”

As Williams noted, you never know what can materialize leading up to the trade deadline. So while the Nets have found some rhythm and chemistry, perhaps an upgrade presents itself that could help with a playoff push.

Pacers looking to add more bench scoring

The Indiana Pacers are the best defensive team in the NBA, but they still struggle at times offensively. With this in mind, the Pacers are looking to add some more scoring to their bench, according to Bleacher Report's Jared Zwerling.

The Pacers had hoped the return of Danny Granger would bolster their bench scoring, and while Granger has played well at times, he has been awfully inconsistent. Andrew Bynum was just signed to provide some inside scoring off the bench, but like Granger, there are major questions about his health.
