The Cavaliers have announced that Kyrie Irving will be shut down for the next two weeks, then re-evaluated.

Irving suffered the injury on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers and there were concerns that he might have torn his biceps and have to be shut down for the season. An MRI done on Monday in Cleveland revealed it was only a strain.
The Cavaliers' next three games are at home against the Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. They will also play the playoff-bound Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers before the end of the month, without Irving. When he is re-evaluated after this two-week period of inactivity, there's a good chance Cleveland will be eliminated from playoff contention.
The Cavaliers are 26-41 on the season, 10th in the Eastern Conference and 4.5 games back of the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth and final playoff spot.
