LaQuinton Ross denies making decision to enter 2014 NBA Draft

The forward disputes a report that he’s decided to declare for the draft after three years with the Buckeyes.

Ohio State forward LaQuinton Ross will enter the 2014 NBA Draft pool, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman. He was expected to meet with Buckeyes coach Thad Matta on Monday before announcing his decision.

Update: Or ... maybe not. Ross disputes making a decision:

Ross averaged 15.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this season for Ohio State. He scored 10 points and on 5-for-12 shooting in his final collegiate game, when the Dayton Flyers upset the Buckeyes in the NCAA Tournament's Round of 64 on Thursday.

While his role increased as a junior, Ross’ shooting dipped from 46.8 percent to 44.7 percent from the field and from 38.9 percent to 35.3 percent from behind the three-point line. It was not quite the breakout season Buckeyes fans hoped for. The main knock on him as a professional prospect is his defense, which is lacking considering he is a long-armed, athletic 6’8 forward. Ross is projected as a mid-second-round pick on DraftExpress.
