The versatile sophomore enjoyed a breakout season at UCLA and may have played himself into a lottery pick.

Zagoria spoke with Anderson’s father after UCLA’s 79-68 loss to top-seeded Florida in the Sweet 16 on Thursday night, and Kyle Anderson Sr. said he plans to sit down with his son to “figure things out.” Anderson Sr. said earlier this season that Kyle is prepared to make the jump to the NBA.
The Hook
As usual, Anderson stuffed the stat sheet in UCLA’s loss to Florida. The 6’9 sophomore only shot 4-of-11 from the field, but he tallied 11 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals.
After a promising freshman campaign, Anderson really came into his own this season. The 20-year-old averaged 14.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists on the year, leading UCLA in rebounding and assists. He shot 48.0 percent overall and 48.3 percent from three-point range.
Anderson’s huge season has his draft stock on the rise. DraftExpress currently has him ranked as the 20th best prospect in this draft, while ESPN’s Chad Ford has him 24th. There are concerns about Anderson’s lack of athleticism in the NBA, but his vast skill set and excellent feel for the game make him an intriguing prospect who may even sneak into the lottery.
