Clippers forward Blake Griffin exited with a back injury late in the first quarter against the Houston Rockets on Saturday night. Griffin had seven points at the time of the injury but has not returned since. He remains in the locker room being looked at by the trainer as the game moves into the second quarter. The team has announced he is doubtful to return.

The Clippers are third in the Western Conference standings and have won eight of their last 10 games. Griffin is a huge reason why. He's averaging a career-high in scoring this year with 24.3 points per game on 53.2 percent shooting. Griffin's playmaking ability has also been in the spotlight with Chris Paul missing time earlier this season. Griffin is averaging 3.8 assists per game.

The Rockets are the team directly below the Clippers in the standings by one game. Houston has won five straight games entering the contest on Saturday night.

Los Angeles has eight games remaining in the regular season after Saturday’s game.
