Aaron Gordon to enter 2014 NBA Draft, according to report

Arizona’s freshman forward is one of the top prospects in the 2014 NBA draft.

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

Arizona freshman forward Aaron Gordon likely played his last collegiate basketball game when his Wildcats were eliminated by Wisconsin Saturday in the Elite 8, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

Gordon (no. 8 in DraftExpress’ top 100) played efficiently through Arizona’s first three tournament games, but struggled from the field against the Badgers. He shot just 3-of-11 from the field for eight points, but grabbed 18 rebounds and recorded two blocks, two assists and a steal.

On the season, Gordon averaged 12.4 points, eight rebounds and two assists on 49.5 percent shooting. He was one of the anchors for Arizona’s top defense and proved to be a nifty passer and ball handler, especially for his height (6’9).

Gordon struggled at times to create for himself in the half court and he is a poor free throw shooter (42.2 percent), but he’s deadly in transition, whether he’s bringing the ball up himself or filling out on the wing.

If Gordon chooses to leave for the NBA, he’s a lock to be in the draft’s top 10.
