Joakim Noah recruited Carmelo Anthony to join Bulls, according to report

The two may have had a conversation during All-Star Weekend about the Knicks star signing in Chicago this summer.

Joakim Noah has begun the process of recruiting Carmelo Anthony in an effort to lure the soon-to-be free agent to Chicago to play for the Bulls, according to a report from ESPN's Chris Broussard. This, from Broussard:

Over All-Star weekend, I'm told by a person with knowledge of the conversation, that Joakim Noah recruited Carmelo.

Now, you'll probably hear denials out of Chicago if they talk about it, because it would be tampering, officially.

But I'm told that Joakim said to Melo, "Look, you can go to Los Angeles. But if you want to win a ring, if you want your legacy to be about winning, come to Chicago."

Melo, I'm told, said, "Look, I've been watching you guys. I admire how hard you play. I admire how hungry you are. Oh, and by the way, my son's favorite player: Derrick Rose."

Chicago has come up as an Anthony destination before. The idea that Melo could end up playing alongside Noah is plausible, too, especially considering the Bulls' cost-cutting ways this season and the fact the Knicks aren't doing much to show they've got a viable chance to win a title in the near future.

As the drama continues to mount in New York, the Anthony watch has officially begun. And you’d better believe more players in other cities are preparing their pitches, as well.
