NBA betting odds: Miami Heat favored in Eastern Conference

Indiana is the top seed but Miami gets the nod as top betting choice in odds to win the NBA Eastern Conference title.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The top-seeded Indiana Pacers are going off at 2/1 to win the Eastern Conference in NBA playoff betting circles. But despite ending up with the second seed in the conference, the Miami Heat are still a 2/3 favorite to win the East for the fourth straight season.

Here’s a look at the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs and odds to win the conference title and NBA crown.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors - Game 1 on Saturday in Toronto

The Brooklyn Nets (25/1 to win the championship) enter the postseason on a low note after going 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS over their last five games. This has the makings of an interesting series as the regular-season series with Toronto (66/1) was split 2-2 SU and ATS with both teams winning one game at home and one away.

The total has gone OVER in seven of Toronto’s last eight games with the Raptors going 7-1 SU over that stretch.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Indiana Pacers - Game 1 on Saturday in Indiana

Indiana (6/1) strung together an ugly 2-7 SU and 0-9 ATS slump before ending the season on a 3-1 SU and ATS run. The 1-seed vs. 8-seed matchup is usually a formality, but Atlanta (250/1) and Indiana tend to play close with a 10-10 SU record against one another in their last 20 meetings including a 2-2 SU split this year.

Charlotte Bobcats vs. Miami Heat - Game 1 on Sunday in Miami

The Charlotte Bobcats (250/1 to win the championship) haven’t defeated the Miami Heat since March 9, 2010. Miami (2/1) is a perfect 16-0 SU and 10-5-1 ATS over its last 16 games against the Bobcats since then. The Heat did not look good down the stretch with a 1-5 SU and ATS record over their last six games, but this looks like a good tune-up series for the defending champs.

Washington Wizards vs. Chicago Bulls - Game 1 on Sunday in Chicago

Washington (150/1) has fared well against the Chicago Bulls (40/1) recently with a 5-3 SU and 6-2 ATS record in its last eight games against them. The total has gone UNDER in 22 of the last 27 games between these two teams.
