2014 NBA schedule: Spurs host Warriors in bid for 19th straight win, Knicks host Nets

The Spurs look to keep on rolling against the Warriors while the Knicks continue their playoff push in a New York showdown.

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a busy Wednesday in the NBA, with 13 games on the menu. Many of the games have playoff implications, so there’s plenty to pay attention to around the league.

Main course: Golden State Warriors at San Antonio Spurs

8:30 p.m. ET

The Spurs will look to make it 19 straight wins when they welcome the Golden State Warriors to town. San Antonio won their franchise-record 18th straight game in dominating fashion, destroying the Indiana Pacers 103-77 on Monday.

While the Warriors should provide a tough challenge, they may be a bit fatigued after a thrilling 122-120 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. Golden State won on a Stephen Curry jumper in the final second.

The Spurs have won all three previous meetings this season, with the latest a 99-90 triumph at Oracle Arena on March 22. Andrew Bogut will be out with a groin injury and David Lee might not play due to a hamstring issue.

Appetizer: Brooklyn Nets at New York Knicks

7 p.m. ET, ESPN

The Nets just clinched a playoff berth, and the Knicks will look to continue their push for a spot in the postseason when the two teams get together at Madison Square Garden.

New York is just one game back of the Atlanta Hawks, and the Knicks could get even with a victory and a Hawks loss to the Chicago Bulls. New York may be without Tim Hardaway Jr., who sprained his ankle in a victory over the Utah Jazz on Monday.

The season series is tied at 1-1, with each team grabbing blowout victories on the road.

Dessert: Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns

10 p.m. ET

Another game with major playoff implications. The Suns currently hold the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference and have the same record as the No. 7 Memphis Grizzlies, but both teams are just a half-game ahead of the No. 9 Dallas Mavericks.

Phoenix is entering a brutal closing stretch after a rough loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers. The loss snapped a six-game winning streak.

The Clippers are comfortably in the third slot in the West, so they likely won't rush Blake Griffin (back spasms) and Jamal Crawford (sore left Achilles) back from injury. Los Angeles has won two of the three previous meetings this season.
